Canada’s Largest Sugar Refinery Coming Soon
Currently, Canada’s sugar fix is supplied by a duopoly: Redpath and Rogers who have three main production facilities out of Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
However, a “new” player is coming onto the scene, Flordia-based sugar producer, Sucro is looking to invest $135 million to build a new refinery in Hamilton (Ontario) to become the largest sugar refinery in Canada.

Last week, we wrote about nuclear energy being a larger source of energy. Now, the western province of Alberta, Canada (the province largely relies on oil & gas) is looking into setting up the province’s first nuclear power reactor.
Capital Power is discussing a partnership with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) look at building a small nuclear reactor.
OPG already operates ten nuclear reactors in Ontario.
