As countries keep slapping new tariffs (e.g. semiconductor chips), the U.S. has announced new tariffs on exports of advanced technology such quantum computers.

While not the only country to not want to share with others, other countries such as the UK and Netherlands also have similar technology tariffs in place.


Canada Sets Stricter Import Requirements from Europe

According to Transport Canada, there has been a rash of suspicious cargo originating from Europe that carried dangerous or suspicious substances.

Following the U.S.’s lead, Canada is limiting air cargo transport to parties with established relationship with Canadian cargo shippers.

The precautions come from a warning from German authorities, who warn that unknown parties are shipping cargo that contains fire-starting devices. 

The authorities believe it is a deliberate attempt to cause damage to freight service companies’ vehicles and infrastructure.
