Cost of Shipping Surges 80% Amid Pandemic
As the global pandemic continues to rage on, global supply chains are still being impacted – finding it hard to keep up with demand.
Supply chains are having a tough time keeping up with the demand as e-commerce sales around the world have surged.
Consumers seem to be riding out the pandemic by spending more as sales for home furnishings and furniture has risen but supply has not kept up.
The Washingpost reports, that the cost to ship a container of goods has increased 80% since November 2020 and is looking to triple in cost this year.
That could spur on inflation if supply remains overwhelmed.
