We Have a New Player in the Chip Game
It’s been well-documented about the global chip shortage which affected (and continues to affect) supply for automobiles, appliances, computers and pretty much anything that runs on electricity.
Enter the latest player: Amazon’s AWS (Amazon Web Services). Mostly known for their cloud services offering, AWS is now entering the chip game.
Promoting their chips as cheaper, better, faster – everything you want in a chip.
These new computing chips are mostly used for machine learning tasks, said to be three-times faster and saves sixty percent in energy use compared to current Intel and AMD chips.
Time will tell how this plays out.
